Purpose of Not-For-Profit

Vista Villa is a not-for-profit organization driven by strong principles of seniors' care, housing security and easing the housing crisis for Veterans and families across Ontario.

Our not-for-profit organization was founded with the objective to develop a diverse range of non-profit long-term care facilities, non-profit age-friendly housing primarily for seniors, as well as affordable and attainable housing options for families and Veterans.

In addition, our team has extensive heritage property construction experience preserving and rehabilitating cultural heritage sites in Toronto and across Canada.

Our thoughtful integrated approach to building maximizes the community benefits with focused spaces related to ancillary health and care services creating a continuum of care and campus of care environment in a Community Hub setting with spaces that promote indoor and outdoor active living to meet the changing and diverse needs of all residents and newcomers across the GTHA.

Tim W. Kwan

Tim W. Kwan is a distinguished real estate developer and community leader with over 50 years of experience in engineering and senior care advocacy. As the President of Sheppard Group, he developed landmark for-profit residential and commercial projects across the Greater Toronto Area, including the 291-unit Atrium on Queens Quay, the Graphic Arts Condominium, Broadview Mews, and subdivisions such as Elson Estate and Hunters Point.

After retiring from private development, Mr. Kwan dedicated approximately 25 years as a volunteer for the Mon Sheong Foundation, where he currently serves as Chairman. A cornerstone of Canadian philanthropy and former member of the National Seniors Council, his visionary leadership has been instrumental in creating multicultural long-term care facilities and pioneering charity care living projects. In recognition of his service, he has been honored with the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Today, he is bringing this extensive experience in both construction and community advocacy to Vista Villa Not-for-Profit.
